Operation WarmWe need your help to make a positive difference in the lives of local children living in need. Nearly 20 % of American children live in poverty. And that was before the COVID-19 recession. For a family of four, their income is less than $26,200/year. We have decided to take action in the fight against childhood poverty in St. Charles, Geneva, and Batavia, Illinois. We are teaming up with Operation Warm, a national nonprofit. We will gift brand new coats to kids in our community. These coats will be distributed through our local Salvation Army, Lazarus House (our local homeless shelter), and St. Charles School District d303. But we need your help!! This is not a coat drive. Operation Warm will provide us with brand new coats in a variety of styles and colors. Every $20 we raise provides a new coat to a local child in need. 100% of all money raised goes toward a new coat. Help us reach our goal of $8,000 by October 31st! Please help today with a tax-deductible contribution here. Any donation you can give will be so welcome and will bring warmth and happiness to more children! The process is fast, easy, and secure just by clicking on the above BLUE link. Thanks so much for your compassion and care for children. |

Looking for RYLA ParticipantsDo you know of any outstanding high school students who could benefit from developing their leadership skills? If so, encourage them to apply for one of the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) retreats in Spring 2018 (March 8-11 and April 12-15). Student feedback on this experience is always outstanding. Take a look at this video to get a feel for RYLA. You can download a RYLA brochure and application in the download file area to your right. We sponsor 3 students a year. This is a great opportunity for tomorrow's leaders. |
Toys to be Collected Along the Holiday Parade RouteBring your new, unwrapped toys to the St. Charles Holiday Electric Parade on Saturday, November 28th,and help the St. Charles Breakfast Rotary Club collect toys for the Toys for Kids Program. The Rotarians want to make sure that all children get a visit from Santa this year. Rotary volunteers will walk along the Holiday Electric Parade route with their “Rotary Float of Toys”, accepting unwrapped toys from the festive, Thanksgiving crowd. All toys will be donated to the Tri-Cities Jim Wheeler Toys for Kids Program which benefits children in need through the Tri-Cities Salvation Army. This program is in its thirty-second year, and has been a great success due to all the support from our Tri-Cities residents, neighbors and friends. The parade kicks off at 5:30 p.m. and moves down Main St. between 6th Street and 4th Avenue in downtown St. Charles. Watch for the Breakfast Rotary’s float, and donate your toys as they pass. All unwrapped, new toys will be collected.
